Childhood
Timothy Walter Burton, was born August 25, 1958 in Burbank,California. His parents are Jean Burton and Bill Burton. He has one younger sibling named Daniel Burton who also is an artist. He would love to watch Sci-Fiction and Horror movies. Also, he was very influenced by Vincent Price, one of his biggest heroes(Who we would soon work with in movies and short films like 'Edward Scissorhands').
School
He went to Burbank High school and didn't have the best grades. After he graduated, he went to CIA (California Institute of Arts) and studied there. There, he made his famous short film 'Stalk of the Celery Monster' and 'King and Octopus'. Today very few scenes remain of his short movies. He then Graduated 1989.
Walt Disney Animation Studios
The short film 'Stalk of the Celery Monster' captured Disney Animation Studios attention and offered Tim a job there. When he was there, he worked as an animator, concept artist and story board artist. While he was there, he made the short film 'Vincent' and 'Frakenweenie'. Disney then deiced fire him due to him spending money and resources on movies that children couldn't see.
Personal Life
On 1989, Tim Burton married German artist Lena Gieseke and then divorced with her in 1993 for actress Lisa Marie. Marie and Burton and partners for 8 years. During the time, Marie was in four of his movies, 'Ed Wood', 'Mars Attacks', 'Sleepy Hallow', and 'Planet of the Apes'. During Planet of the Apes, he left Marie for actress Helena Bonham Carter and became her partner. They have presently have two children, a son named Billy Raymond and a daughter named Nell. Billy was born on October 4, 2003 and Nell was born December 15, 2007. Billy is currently 8 years old and Nell is currently 3 years old. Close friend and actor Johnny Depp is the children's godfather.
